Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences (further called Institute or IP PAS) announces a competition for the position of an assistant (F/M/X) at the Department of Pharmacology of Pain. 

A person for the position of assistant (F/M/X) should meet the following conditions

1. PhD in pharmacological, medical or related sciences;
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in working with laboratory animals (mice and rats);
3. Scientific achievements supported by publications in the international peer reviewed
   journals, at least 5 publications as first author;
4. Knowledge and strong research interest in function of the central nervous system,
   including molecular basis of these processes, and in particular the development of
   neuroimmune disorders in nociception processes;
5. Knowledge of animal models of peripheral and/or central nervous system injury;
6. Advanced practical knowledge of biochemical and molecular techniques (i.e., Western Blot, ELISA, Luminex, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry);
7. Practical experience in establishing and maintaining in vitro cell cultures;
8. Knowledge of imaging techniques;
9. Experience in statistical analysis and employing statistical and graphic programs (including Statistica, GraphPad Prism, MultiGauge, Magellan™, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator,
   Acrobat Reader Pro);
10. Completed training required for persons planning and conducting procedures and euthanizing animals used for scientific or educational purposes, in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 465, of 2025, item 1795);
11. Experience in the implementation of research projects, independent analysis and
    interpretation of results, preparation of manuscripts and public presentation and discussion of results;
12. Motivation to broaden the knowledge and scientific curiosity;
13. Willingness to conduct own research and projects;
14. Ability to organize both own and team work, responsibility for assigned tasks;
15. Fluent use of English language;
16. Impeccable ethical attitude.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE WOULD BE:

1. Proficiency in Polish language.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Development of research activities consistent with the research profile of the Department of Pharmacology of Pain;
2. Planning and conducting research experiments, realization of current scientific projects;
3. Performing procedures and experiments using laboratory animals;
4. Preparation and archiving of research data;
5. Implementation of new research methods;
6. Preparing scientific projects and obtaining funds for research;
7. Strict adherence to the code of ethics of Polish Academy of Sciences employee;
8. Compliance with the regulations and directives operating in the IP PAS.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. Full-time employment contract;

7. Salary ranging from PLN 5,600.00 to PLN 7,280.00 gross per month, including base salary, seniority increment (if applicable) and bonus in accordance with the IP PAS Remuneration Regulations.

19. Statement on the primary place of employment and affiliation of research and publications, in accordance with Appendix No. 3 to the Form;
20. Information on the processing of personal data in accordance with Appendix 4 to the Form;
21. A declaration of impeccable ethical attitude in accordance with Appendix 5 to the Form.
