Assistant (F/M/X) at the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, IP PAS – full-time

Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Institute or IP PAS) announces the competition for the position of assistant (F/M/X) at the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism IP PAS. We are seeking a person interested in conducting scientific research in the fields of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and experimental neurobiology. The employed person will participate in national and international research projects conducted within the Department, develop their own scientific activity and contribute to the development of new research directions.

A person for the position of assistant (F/M/X) should meet the following conditions:

1. A doctoral degree in medical, pharmaceutical, biological, chemical or related sciences;
2. Experience in laboratory work in a scientific research institution;
3. Experience in conducting experimental research in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, molecular biology or biomedical sciences;
4. Practical knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry and instrumental analytical methods;
5. Experience in cell culture techniques and preparation of biological material for research;
6. Experience in working with laboratory animals;

7. Completed training required for persons conducting procedures and euthanizing animals used for scientific or educational purposes, in accordance with the provisions of the Polish Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 465, of 2025, item 1795);8
8. Documented scientific achievements including publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals;
9. Experience in presenting research results at national or international conferences;
10. Experience in participation in research projects funded from national or international sources;
11. Very good command of English enabling preparation of scientific publications and presentation of research results;
12. Ability to independently plan experiments, analyze and interpret results, and prepare scientific reports;
13. High ethical standards and professional conduct.

 SCOPE OF DUTIES: 

1. Conducting scientific research consistent with the profile of the Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism;
2. Planning and performing laboratory experiments using biological, biochemical and molecular methods;
3. Participation in national and international research projects;
4. Analysis, interpretation and archiving of research results;
5. Implementation and optimization of research methods;
6. Participation in the preparation of scientific publications, reports and conference presentations;
7. Participation in the preparation of research projects and acquisition of research funding;
8. Supporting the scientific activity of the Department through the development of new research directions;
9. Ensuring the proper functioning of the laboratory and research equipment entrusted to the employee;

10. Strict adherence to the code of ethics of Polish Academy of Sciences employee;
11. Compliance with the regulations and orders in force at the IP PAS

4. Copy of the doctoral diploma or a certificate of obtaining a doctoral degree;
5. Short self-presentation text;
6. A copy of the certificate of completion of training in conducting research with the use of laboratory animals;
7. Contact details of persons who can provide references and who agreed to be contacted;
8. Certificate of English language proficiency (if available);
9. Statement on the primary place of employment and affiliation of research and publications, in accordance with App. No. 3 to the Form;
10. Information on the processing of personal data in accordance with Appendix 4 to the Form;
11. A declaration of impeccable ethical attitude in accordance with Appendix 5 to the Form.
